Twinvision - AEC Digital Twin Platform

The 3dverse team developed Twinvision using the OS. It addresses a critical need for organizations managing assets spread across various locations: the lack of a unified system to monitor and optimize performance. It was created to centralize operational data into a single source of truth, providing a real-time overview, thereby facilitating informed decision-making and improving overall efficiency.

A Digital Twin Platform for Real-Time Facility Management

Mandated by Innovative Solutions Canada, 3dverse was selected to develop a digital twin platform called Twinvision. This platform addressed a critical need to centralize this data into a single source of truth, providing a real-time overview, thereby facilitating decision-making and improving energy efficiency.

The Challenge: Disconnected Systems and Inefficient Operations in Building Management

  • Fragmented Systems: Data from building management systems (BMS), Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, and other sources were siloed, making a holistic view of operations impossible.

  • Energy Inefficiencies: Lack of real-time, easily interpretable data hindered efforts to monitor, analyze, and optimize energy consumption effectively.

  • Lack of Transparency: Difficulty in accessing and understanding operational data hampered timely decision-making, proactive maintenance, and collaboration among stakeholders.

  • Costly Rework: Potential for errors and discrepancies between design models and as-built conditions during retrofits or construction phases posed a risk of significant budget overruns.

The Solution: Twinvision – A Real-Time 3D Digital Twin Platform
