    Released September 2026

    3dverse-mobile-viewer

The web viewer for phones and tablets that opens a 3D scene in a live session, with touch navigation, labels, avatars, light controls and an XR mode.

    Improved

    • Tab lists can now be switched by swiping on touch screens.

What it means: Phone and tablet users can move between tabs with a swipe instead of tapping each tab.

    • Use case settings now appear only in scenes that are set up for that use case.

What it means: Scenes that do not use these settings no longer show them.

    Fixed

    • The view cube now appears at the correct size. The view cube is the small on-screen cube that shows the camera's orientation and turns the view to a chosen side.

    ftl-schemas

The set of schemas that define scene components and their settings, such as lights.

    Fixed

    • The light intensity setting now takes its value in candelas or in lux, and the cutoff angle of a spot light is now defined as the half-angle of its cone. Candela and lux are standard units of light: candela measures how bright a light source is in a given direction, and lux measures how much light reaches a surface.

What it means: Light intensities and spot light cones can be set with physical values that mean what their units say.

    ftl-shader-modules (main)

The renderer's shading code written again in the Slang shading language, developed and researched on a separate branch and not yet used by the renderer.

    New

    • Ambient light can now come from one selected source: a solid color, a gradient, a skybox, a skydome, or the atmosphere. Ambient light is the background light that reaches surfaces from all directions, not only from direct lights.

Known limits: Only one source is used at a time.

    Improved

    • The atmosphere model now uses Earth's Rayleigh scattering coefficients and includes light that scatters many times in the atmosphere, including light reflected from sunlit ground. Rayleigh scattering is how air molecules scatter sunlight, and it is what makes the sky blue.

What it means: Sky colors follow Earth's atmosphere, and the ground now adds to the light in the sky.

    • Debug lines now fade with distance and appear dimmed when they are behind solid objects.

What it means: Debug drawings are easier to read in busy scenes, and it is clear which lines are hidden behind geometry.

    Fixed

    • Spot lights with an IES profile now spread their light at the correct angles, and the intensity set in candela is used as given. An IES profile is a file that describes how a real light fixture spreads its light in different directions.

What it means: Spot lights using measured fixture data have the shape and brightness their settings describe.

    ftl-shader-modules (master)

The GLSL shader modules the renderer currently runs, which decide the colour, light and shadow of every surface in a frame.

    Fixed

    • While the camera moves, voxel rendering now stores picking, surface normal and depth information for every pixel on screen. Before, it could fill in only part of each two-by-two group of pixels. Picking is how the renderer finds which object is under a given point on the screen.

What it means: Picking, and other features that read surface normals and depth, now get correct values for voxel content while the camera is moving.

    livelink

The TypeScript SDK that browser applications use to open a session and control a live 3D scene, including the viewport and React bindings.

    Fixed

    • An agent connection is no longer closed when it has been inactive for a while. Two MQTT connections created from the same configuration no longer get the same client identifier, which caused the second connection to take over the session and disconnect the first.

What it means: Agents stay connected for the whole session. An application can also open several connections from one configuration without them disconnecting each other.

    • Several view cubes on the same page can now each have a different size. A view cube is the small cube in a corner of the viewport that shows which way the camera faces and turns the view when clicked.
